Pre Production

Synima came up with the concept of a character who is in a bubble, to illustrate the isolation of being unconnected. From this single bubble we could then connect other bubbles to create a metaphor for a network of connected operators, achieving more and getting better service. We delivered a complete storyboard to the client so they could see and approve our ideas before started animating to ensure we were on the right path.

Animation

The animator who worked on this project is known for his perfectionism around the Synima offices, and you can see the results of that in the video. The tiny details he added really helped to give this animation depth and texture. There’s a significant transition towards the video’s conclusion where we start to see the scale of the network – the world opens up and there’s a very different feel to that original bubble we saw the operator inside. Creating ‘feel’ in animation is hard to do, but this video achieves it.

So…did it work?

The client was very happy with the results of this video, and so were we. Not just because we felt the video demonstrates the excellent work our artists and animators are capable of but also because it has directly led to further collaborations with HPE and more great work. HPE used this video to help educate their own selling teams in how to position their products with customers, as well as a direct marketing tool.
