Pre Production

The concept Synima came up with was called “The Plan”. We took inspiration from heist movies where the planners outline the details of their plan while the action takes place onscreen. We envisaged two HPE decision makers, in separate locations discussing the details of a new support package that would meet the needs of a modern business. The story begins with one of the decision makers hitting on a workable solution, before running though the features one by one.

Production

We had planned for a diverse range of locations which we achieved by shooting in an LED studio. A background screen gives a convincing sense of location while props in the foreground help settle the actors into the scene. Using this set up we were able to shoot all of the locations in the video in one place. We used fast pans and zooms to cut between these scenes to add to a sense of cinematic energy.

So…did it work?

HPE were thrilled with the result which they agreed had the look and feel of a slick, Hollywood heist movie. They were also impressed with the way our concept had allowed for the script to focus mainly on the customer benefits without being too ‘salesy’. The video was used both internally and externally at HPE, to train their sales staff and increase awareness of the service among their customers and partners.
