ETS Global engaged Synima to create a tailored promotional video for their Education X Innovation initiative, spotlighting compelling narratives of student athletes worldwide. They wanted a concept that revolved around three students engaged in diverse sporting realms: a footballer, a gymnast, and a tennis player. We should see the hard work, discipline and fun of a dedication to sport.
The initial phase encompassed script development, storyboarding, casting, crew selection, and location scouting – all of which consumed the first three weeks of our schedule. We knew we had to plan this production meticulously to ensure that the shooting and post-production went as efficiently as possible over the weeks that followed. We had a window of one week allocated for filming and two weeks for post-production.
Budget constraints meant we had to work hard to complete filming within two days. Each day’s shooting lasted 16-hours and spanned three different locations. We were filming in winter which has its own challenges; unfortunately that included poor weather. Despite this, the production persevered. Our talented crew turned the situation to our advantage by using the adverse weather conditions to enhance the atmosphere of the visuals. The scene where a young man practises football skills alone at night has a captivating intensity that is in no small part due to the falling rain capturing the light from the floodlights.
During a meticulous editing, grading, and audio mixing process, we were able to see the final product coming together and we felt we had something special. When we delivered it to the client, they agreed. The online engagement this video attracted was unprecedented for ETS, going well beyond anything they had previously seen. Synima’s seamless collaboration with ETS Global yielded a compelling narrative that resonated with audiences, effectively amplifying the Education X Innovation campaign’s reach and impact.
