Jaggaer is a world leader in direct procurement and supply chain management. They are at the forefront of an enterprise commerce revolution and when they wanted a video to tell the world about their Autonomous Commerce platform, they came to Synima to help them do it. The video needed to chronicle the rapid changes in commerce since the arrival of the internet and explain why Autonomous Commerce is the next step.
The concept Synima proposed was an animated video based around the concept of blocks. The block motif would allow us to create continuity between the history section, where the blocks would join together to create scenarios, to the practical side of procurement, where blocks can represent items being moved from one place to another. A voice over would tell the story of the commerce revolution and position Autonomous Commerce as the natural solution.
The video was animated in 3D, using a simple aesthetic that allowed the narrative to take centre stage. From a plain background the blocks could emerge and disappear as required, building scenes that support the story and creating a sense of movement throughout. A constantly moving point of view adds to the sense of dynamism and speed. When the voice over required a point to be emphasised, we added text into the scene being animated.
The final video covers a lot of narrative ground in a relatively short run time. Jaggaer were pleased with the sense of movement and speed in the video which they used online to promote their Autonomous Commerce platform. Synima’s block concept enabled the video to switch between real life scenarios and abstract ideas seamlessly with an aesthetic that is minimalist and very much in line with current trends.
